Mission & Philosophy

Who was Saint Sri Manpuri Ji Maharaj?

Saint Sri Manpuri Ji Maharaj was a holy and honest man. Maharaj ji spent all his life travelling many places throughout India. Throughout his journey, Maharaj ji gained many followers all across Northern India. Maharaj ji followed and believed in the Hari Krishan's bible and belief system.

Maharaj ji would never stay in villages for a long time, nor did he live within the village boundaries. He believed it was best to stay in open fields, where he would plant vegetables and fruits required for survival. At every resting location, he dug water wells. Across his journey, he established 361 locations and all of those locations are being worshiped under his name.

Maharaj ji was able to touch so many lives across his journey, by predicting future outlooks, healing and providing hope to families in need. Throughout his teachings, he created a strong followership, connecting people from all walks of life and making them brothers and sisters. This group of followers is called the Savic of Kotia. It is through these Savics that the number of followers and believers have grown through different generations.

What is Chak Prema kutia's importance in this?

The kutia in chak prema is the biggest of the locations Maharaj ji established, and is the final place where Saint Sri Manpuri Ji Maharaj laid his head to rest. When Maharaj came to Chak Prema, he told his followers he did not wish to come to Chuk Prema as he knew it would be his final resting place. He lived here for 3 months. Maharaj Ji passed away On January 16th 1970.

Since his passing, one of his closest followers - Pritam Singh Sandhu (one of the Savics) - could not forget or get over the impact Maharaj had on many people. The Kutia was built where he passed. To this day, the location is strong in the beliefs, and traditional values are kept alive. The kutia will stay honest, and treat people with dingity as it has done over the years. We will never ask for donations and will always manage with what is provided.
